From 1995 to 2010, Dr. Captain served as the Gulf Coast and Southwest transfer pricing leader at EY. During this time, he established a reputation for deeply understanding transfer pricing regulations and their implications for multinational corporations. Before joining EY, he was a transfer pricing economist at Coopers & Lybrand from 1993 to 1995. His career began as an economist at ExxonMobil from 1989 to 1993, where he honed his analytical skills and gained valuable industry experience. Dr. Captain is most proud of earning the trust of his clients for nearly three decades, maintaining and growing relationships through his exceptional expertise and commitment.
Dr. Captain's academic background laid the foundation for his professional achievements. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Rice University in Houston in 1993 after completing his Master's Degree in Economics in 1992. His undergraduate studies culminated in a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The College of Wooster in 1988, following coursework at La Martinere College. Dr. Captain attributes his success to his ability to be a trusted advisor to clients and develop his team's capabilities. He takes pride in promoting more than 20 individuals to managerial and directorial positions and values the long-term loyalty of his team members.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Captain enjoys an active personal life that includes playing pickleball, biking, participating in animal rescue work and traveling with his wife.
