WAVERLY, TN, April 12, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Jess Bowen with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Jess Bowen celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A fifth-generation funeral home owner, Mr. Bowen grew up in the Luff-Bowen Funeral Home. Upon earning his embalming license and becoming a funeral director in the late 1960s, he began as a funeral assistant for Mann Mortuary. Between 1967 and 1968, he worked as an ambulance driver and attendant, prepared bodies for funerals, and arranged and delivered flowers to cemeteries. After a year with Mann Mortuary, he became the owner and manager of Luff-Bowen Funeral Home, where he remains today as an adviser. In addition to overseeing managerial and personnel matters, Mr. Bowen embalms remains, conducts funerals and burial services, cremates bodies, and more.

An expert in his field, Mr. Bowen studied mortuary science at John A. Gupton College and holds a Bachelor of Science in business from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he aligns himself with the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association, Sigma Chi, and Shriners International. Additionally, he is a third-generation Mason. In conjunction with his work, Mr. Brown contributes to his community through the American Red Cross, the Waverly Exchange Club, and the County Election Commission.

While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Bowen takes the most pride in marrying his wife. When he met her, she was working at a hospital and he was working at his family's funeral home, taking patients in and out of the hospital. Looking ahead, he intends to continue helping people through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Ultimately, Mr. Bowen aims to remain a faithful Christian by extending God's word to those in need.
