Dr. Awopeju has established herself as a dedicated clinical research and quality assurance professional. Currently serving as a senior compliance specialist in clinical quality assurance at C4 Therapeutics Inc., she brings a unique perspective to her role. Since 2023, Dr. Awopeju has been tasked with ensuring compliance for various clinical trials across internal departments and external vendors, leveraging her expertise in clinical research and good clinical practice, resolving compliance related issues, conducting audits, and overseeing quality control in patient-related processes and procedures.

Before her current position, from 2020 to 2022, Dr. Awopeju was affiliated with Forma Therapeutics where she began her biotechnology industry career. Beginning as a clinical trial associate and subsequently as a senior clinical trial associate. Prior to transitioning into the biotechnology industry, Dr. Awopeju held a significant role at Hasbro Children's Hospital as a pediatric hematology and oncology clinical research program supervisor between 2018 and 2020 where she collaborated with the division director and clinical research director to revamp the pediatric hematology and oncology clinical research program, supervised clinical research staff, assisted with research budgeting and contracts, and maintained quality assurance, safety, and environmental and safety control in accordance with the hospital's policies and objectives. Prior to her role as a clinical research program supervisor, she worked at Home Instead Senior Care as a caregiver from 2017 to 2018 while pursuing her master's degree in clinical research. Dr. Awopeju's clinical research career began at Miriam Hospital where she worked as a cardiovascular research assistant from 2015 and 2016. She has also worked in various healthcare and healthcare administration roles, including at the Rhode Island Free Clinic as a VISTA volunteer coordinator tasked with managing clinic volunteers, medical assistants, front desk staff, provider schedules, medical supplies, and patient experience.

Highly regarded in her industry, Dr. Awopeju is passionate about clinical research and improving clinical trial diversity. Among her many professional goals, she aims to make clinical trials equitable for all populations. She also plans to contribute to the body of knowledge on clinical research by publishing articles that address disparities within clinical trials.

Besides her work-related endeavors, Dr. Awopeju has been a youth mentor for Watts Natural Tutoring since 2022, where she formerly served as the board chair from 2020 to 2023. Her desire to give back to the next generation stems from her former volunteer work as a student mentor at The Met School in Providence, Rhode Island, between 2015 and 2016, and from experiencing personal and professional growth and successes due to her relationship with her mentors.

Instrumental in her professional success, Dr. Awopeju received a Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory science with a biotechnology concentration from the University of Rhode Island in 2013, followed by a Master of Science in clinical research in 2018 and a Doctor of Health Sciences in 2023 from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Furthermore, Dr. Awopeju received credentials as a certified professional from the Association of Clinical Research Professionals where she is also a recognized member of the organization, further underscoring her commitment to her field.

The foundation for Dr. Awopeju's achievements can be traced back to her upbringing by Nigerian immigrants, parent and relatives, who emphasized education. Their teachings on faith, gratitude, humility, and service have shaped her character and career trajectory.
