Leveraging more than three decades of excellence in clinical psychology, Dr. Levin has earned distinction as a clinical and health psychologist with her own practice, Cynthia Levin, Psy.D. Since 2001, she has focused her efforts on providing the most effective compassionate and comprehensive treatment for her patients struggling with a variety of psychological concerns, including helping those with chronic medical conditions better manage the psychological aspects concomitant with medical diseases. Before establishing her private practice in 2004, Dr. Levin served as a clinical course developer, internet publisher and digital healthcare tools developer for the start-up, MentalHelp.net in 2000 at CMHC Systems. She continued her career as a clinical health psychologist and behavioral medicine specialist for the Northwestern Memorial Hospital Wellness Institute in 2001, collaborating with a team comprising surgeons, physicians, nurse practitioners, exercise physiologists, and dietitians to provide comprehensive mind/body integrated care to patients. At Northwestern, she provided psychological evaluations for prospective bariatric patients, facilitated informational meetings for patients seeking bariatric surgery and led the associated support group. She also contributed to several research initiatives, participating in a study on the outcomes of bariatric surgery and investigating the effects of a vagus nerve pacemaker on appetite and satiation. Dr. Levin extended her treatment of care to patients experiencing neurological problems in the medical setting as a licensed clinical psychologist for the health psychology services department of the Ascension Medical Group Illinois Brain and Spine from 2022 until 2023.

Among her professional accomplishments, Dr. Levin played a pioneering role in developing content for interactive self-help programs, contributing significantly to the creation of content in areas such as weight management, stress management, sleep management, and smoking cessation for the psychological disorder centers at CMHC Systems. She also contributed to several chapters for the book "Dr. Kushner's Personality Type Diet" and has been interviewed for articles in prestigious media publications, including the Chicago Tribune, the Times and Elle magazine.

To prepare for her career, Dr. Levin earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Washington University in St. Louis in 1988, graduating cum laude. Following this achievement, she attained a Doctor of Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 1997. She subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship in health psychology and behavioral medicine with an integrative multidisciplinary model of care at the Ohio State University department of family medicine in 1998. Well-qualified in her field, she also holds a certification in anxiety disorders and telehealth and is trained in the method for treating panic disorder developed by Dr. David H. Barlow.

Looking to the future, Dr. Levin intends to continue enhancing accessibility to mental health care, particularly making psychotherapy tools readily available to the general public and contributing to the broader accessibility and understanding of mental health support.
