An accomplished listee, William Jones celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After graduating from high school in 1969, Mr. Jones attended Palomar College for one semester before enlisting with the U.S. Navy. As a hospital corpsman, he oversaw specialized training in operating room procedures, including neurosurgeries and other procedures that involve the brain and spinal cord. Driven to further his knowledge, he completed several more technical courses before joining the U.S. Marine Corps. During the Vietnam War, he participated in numerous rescue operations. Upon coming home, Mr. Jones gained valuable transplantation and dialysis technician expertise.

Over the years, Mr. Jones furthered his education, completing a one-year training program through the Navy's independent duty school and a Bachelor of Science to become a physician assistant through George Washington University's School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Subsequently, he received a Master of Arts in health services administration from Webster University. He excelled in various roles in the U.S. Navy, from which he retired as a lieutenant in 1992. As a civilian, Mr. Jones found success as an author, instructor, and contractor and worked as a nephrology physician assistant at St. Mary's Hospital until his retirement in 2023.

To remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Jones aligned himself with the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Nephrology Pas, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Likewise, he has contributed to his community on the American Academy of Physician Associates' Veterans Caucus board of directors and as the former president of the South Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.

Given his professional achievements, Mr. Jones was named a Marquis Who's Who Top Educator and received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. He was also honored as a distinguished fellow by the American Academy of Physician Associates for his dedication to excellence in healthcare. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in imparting knowledge to his students during his time as an educator. He considers his three children to be his greatest achievement. His daughter works as a podiatry assistant while raising a son with apraxia and speech impediments. His older son worked for Mission Control Houston for many years. Meanwhile, Mr. Jones' younger son served in the U.S. Navy for eight years and is currently pursuing a master's degree in intelligence and national security at The Citadel.

Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Jones credits his success to the lessons he learned from his mentors and inspirations, including Clint Eastwood, Yallah Josey Wales, who taught him to persevere, and Steven Joel Hasen, a medical corps officer in the Navy. Within the coming years, Mr. Jones intends to care for his family and travel more.
