Regge Life Lauded for Excellence in Film, Television, and Theater Direction and Production

Regge Life channels years of expertise to his work with Emerson College

Mr. Life excels as the Senior Distinguished Director in Residence in the department of Visual and Media Arts

CAMBRIDGE, MA, April 25, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Regge Life has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Backed by years of professional experience, Mr. Life excels as the Senior Distinguished Director in Residence in the department of Visual and Media Arts at Emerson College. Since 2011 he has taught "Directing Actors for the Screen", "Directing Image and Sound" and with a colleague, created the Narrative Motion Picture Lab that worked in collaboration with the Performing Arts department. The class launched "Global Pathways Cape Town" with AFDA, South Africa's premier film and media school. Over the years, Mr. Life also taught master classes in directing at Annapurna College of Film of Media. He lent his expertise to such institutions as the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, the London College of Communication, American University, and the Communication University of China.

Before joining Emerson College, Mr. Life taught "Introduction to Media Production" and an advanced television workshop at Howard University's Department of Radio, Television, and Film. Throughout his career, he has worked alongside other filmmakers to bring stories to American and international audiences that mainstream media doesn't touch. In addition to directing such documentaries as "Live Your Dream," "Struggle and Success," Reason to Hope," and "After America…After Japan," he wrote, produced, and directed "Cocktail Party," "Reunion," featuring Denzel Washington, and Max." Likewise, Mr. Life has created specials for television, such as "Sweet Auburn" and "Men in Prison/Mothers Behind Bars" and off-Broadway plays, including "Living in the Wind."

An expert in his field, Mr. Life holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Drama from Tufts University and a Master of Fine Arts in directing for theater and film from New York University. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he aligned himself with the Boards of the Japanese American National Museum and the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers. Similarly, he is a member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers and Directors Guild of America. Alongside his work, Mr. Life contributes to his community as a patron of the North Shore Humane Society and as a volunteer with various dog rescue organizations.

In light of his outstanding body of work, Mr. Life received the Cine Golden Eagle Awards for "Doubles," "Struggle and Success," and "Seriously Fresh." He also won a Gold Award for "Reunion" at the Philadelphia International Film Festival, the Best Black Film Award for "Reason to Hope" through the 26th Black International Film Festival in Berlin, and numerous Emmy Award nominations. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in his work in theater and television, several long-form documentaries featured on national and international television stations, and being part of the teams that produced The Cosby Show and Sesame Street. His success is centered on thinking outside the box and combatting stereotypes. In the coming years, using his book, Becoming an Actor's Director, Mr. Life intends to continue to extend his work internationally.
