Mr. Jannetti has established himself as a preeminent figure in the realm of dance education through a career spanning nearly five decades. Currently serving as an adjunct professor at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and at St. Francis College, he has dedicated his expertise to nurturing the next generation of dancers and dance educators. Mr. Jannetti's tenure at Rutgers University is marked by his innovative approach to teaching dance history, where he emphasizes the movement of people to help students grasp historical contexts more vividly. He also holds concurrent positions as a dance educator for kindergarten through fifth grade at PS 79 Francis Lewis Elementary School in Queens, NY, a dance educator for early childhood and Teaching Artist at Brooklyn Arts Exchange, and a fitness and dance instructor at Manhattan Plaza Health Club.

Mr. Jannetti's extensive career also includes impactful roles within the New York City Department of Education and as an instructor, personal trainer, and movement specialist at Equinox Printing House. His dedication to arts education is evident from past teaching roles at various institutions, including PS 115 Daniel Mucatel School, Gallatin School of Individualized Study, New Jersey School of Dance Arts, The State University of New York, and more. Mr. Jannetti also runs his own dance company, Andrew Jannetti & Dancers, which he founded in 1982 and remains active to this day. He firmly believes that performing himself has been a key component to being a skilled dance educator.

In recognition of his expertise in teaching dance for elementary school students, Mr. Jannetti has been affiliated with such esteemed organizations as the National Dance Education Organization and the New York State Dance Education Association. His leadership within these associations has been instrumental in advancing dance education on a broader scale.

Mr. Jannetti's educational background has been pivotal in shaping his career. He built the foundation of his knowledge with a bachelor's degree in speech and theater with a dance concentration from Montclair State University in 1976. In 2012, Mr. Jannetti earned a Master of Arts in Dance Education from NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. His qualifications are further bolstered by certifications, including as an ACE Group Fitness Instructor from The American Council on Exercise, and as a dance educator from New York State Education Department.

Mr. Jannetti credits his success to a relentless pursuit of excellence and a deep-seated passion for his vocation that transcends mere employment. He believes that the search for success is a never-ending process, and that ethos has not only guided him but also inspired countless students throughout his distinguished career.

Beyond his professional sphere, Mr. Jannetti has been actively involved with several organizations that reflect his commitment to community service and the arts. He served as president of the New York State Dance Education Association from 2016 to 2020 and was a member of Dancers Over 40 for a decade. A founding member of Brooklyn Arts Exchange and Men in Dance, Mr. Jannetti has also participated in events supporting Habitat for Humanity, World Wildlife Fund, Meals on Wheels America, and Susan G. Komen.

Mr. Jannetti's contributions to the world of dance education have not gone unrecognized; he was honored with the Outstanding Leadership in PK-12 award from the National Dance Education Organization, received recognition from the Dance Education Laboratory at the 92nd Street Y, received the Dani Nikas Excellence in Teaching Award from BAX, and is a recipient of the New York State Dance Association's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Planning for the future, Mr. Jannetti envisions retiring in Italy while continuing to contribute to dance education internationally through endeavors like pursuing a Fulbright Scholarship. His commitment to mentoring extends beyond borders, as he aims to foster leadership within Men in Dance and serve as a consultant for student teachers globally. These aspirations underscore Mr. Jannetti's enduring dedication to dance education and his desire to leave an indelible mark on future generations of artists and educators.
