Randy D. White, PhD Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Toxicology

    HYRUM, UT, May 23, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Randy White has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Drawing on years of expertise in toxicology and preclinical research and product development for medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biologics, and nutritional supplements, Dr. White excels as the president of PreClinTox Services, LLC. As president and principal consultant, he provides consultation services to companies that need medical device and pharmaceutical toxicology consultations and regulatory experts. In this capacity, he also focuses on European Union MDR and FDA assessment of medical devices, including gap assessment and biological evaluation planning, biocompatibility evaluation, chemical characterization, toxicological risk assessment, and biological evaluation reporting. Before beginning his current role, Dr. White oversaw toxicology and safety study performances as the senior director of toxicology for WuXi AppTec. He collaborated with staff to define and design preclinical toxicology testing for new products and as Baxter Healthcare's director of toxicology.

During the early stages of his career, Dr. White gained valuable expertise in education, animal toxicology, research, and more as an assistant/adjunct professor and clinical instructor with such institutions as Butler University, Utah State University, Brigham Young University, the Letterman Army Institute of Research, and the University of Utah. Dedicated to his country, he also served as a medical researcher in the U.S. Army for three years. Throughout his career, he has obtained several patents for methods for reducing cyclophosphamide-induced hemorrhagic cystitis and preventing bone marrow hypoplasia. Likewise, Dr. White has contributed to several publications and presentations, including "Histologic lesions associated with intravenous infusion of large volumes of isotonic saline solution in rats for 30 days," "Characterization of the immune response in a murine anaphylaxis model," and "Acute and subchronic toxicology in neonatal rats and mice and young adult dogs, rats, and mice intravenously administered L-2-Oxothiazolidine-4-Carboxylate." He also conducted studies in several other animal models, including rodent dermal carcinogenicity, rabbit pryrogenicity and ocular toxicity, guinea pig sensitization, canine toxicity, and medical device implantation in rat, pig, sheep, and goat.

An expert in his field, Dr. White earned a Bachelor of Science in animal science and a Master of Science in animal physiology from Brigham Young University in 1972 and 1978. Subsequently, he received a PhD in animal nutrition and toxicology from Oregon State University in 1982 and became a laboratory animal technologist through the American Association of Laboratory Animal Science.

Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. White aligns himself with several organizations such as the American College of Toxicology, the Society of Toxicology, the Roundtable of Toxicology Consultants, and the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation. In conjunction with his work, he has given back to his community as a high priest through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in his affiliation with the International Standards Organization, and he embraces the philosophy of "Keep it Simple."
