For over 20 years, Dr. Hakob G. Avetisyan has distinguished himself as a professor and industry leader in construction, engineering and management. He entered the construction industry in the 1990s, operating internationally as a foreman and engineer through the early 2000s. After earning an MEng in tunnels and bridges and a doctorate in civil and industrial systems at Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction, he continued his education at Ohio University. There, he was a research assistant for three years while completing two additional MS degrees in environmental studies and civil engineering. Dr. Avetisyan ultimately achieved a PhD in project management for civil and environmental engineering at the University of Maryland in 2013, where he became a research and teaching assistant and instructor.
