Specializing in passenger elevators, escalators, moving walks and more, Schindler Elevator Corporation manufactures and maintains its products to meet the needs of residential and commercial buildings as well as public transit entities including airports, railway stations and shopping centers.

In his role at the company, Mr. Whittaker performs quality assurance checks on various products as well as their delivery and installation for clients. In addition to overseeing international standards organization (ISO) management systems and procedures, he identifies potential risks and customer safety concerns in client products and advises them on the best practices moving forward. With a proactive approach to problem solving, continuous improvement, and a deep understanding of the importance of quality, he has successfully implemented many design alterations as needed to improve user protection.

Renowned for his professional longevity, Mr. Whittaker started his professional career with a successful fifteen-year tenure at General Electric Aviation as an aerospace engineer and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt before serving with distinction as the operations manager. These early roles gave him the experience needed to transition into the realm of manufacturing and management, and he continued his career as the materials manager of Unison Industries as well as the quality and continuous improvement manager at United Technologies Fire and Security. In 2015, he began serving as the quality manager of Edwards and Kidde, a leader in fire alarm protection and safety services, and supplemented the role by becoming the associate director of quality for Carrier Fire and Security in 2020.

Mr. Whittaker's storied success in the field was born of his academic endeavors. In 1994, he earned a Bachelor of Science in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from the University of Florida and continued his higher education by obtaining a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1998.

Known for his contributions as a civic advocate, Mr. Whittaker is involved in his community as a volunteer at a local animal rescue and contributes his time as a local election worker. He is also a member of multiple important industry-related organizations, including the American Society of Quality and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

Mr. Whittaker attributes his professional and personal success to his active listening ability and welcoming demeanor.
