CHUBBUCK, ID, January 14, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rajendra R. Bajracharya, PhD, PLS, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Leveraging more than 45 years of professional excellence, Dr. Bajracharya is highly regarded for his tenures in higher education and land surveying. Since 2011, he has thrived as a full professor at Idaho State University, where he teaches in the areas of geospatial information, surveying, mapping, global positioning systems and geodesy. Joining the acclaimed university in 2001 as an assistant professor and program coordinator of geomatics technology, he was promoted to the rank of associate professor in 2007. Dr. Bajracharya continued his tenure as a program coordinator until 2016, during which time, he was pivotal in expanding the university's Geomatics Technology program from 15 to over 100 students by offering online courses in the surveying of geomatics.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Bajracharya was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Colorado Boulder in 1995 and at the University of Colorado Denver from 1995 to 2001. He also served as a teaching assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1988 and 1994 and a teaching associate at The Ohio State University in 1985. Dr. Bajracharya commenced his career in 1977 in his native Nepal, serving as a surveying instructor at the Survey Training Center for four years. Adjacent to his primary appointments, Dr. Bajracharya has been a surveyor for numerous global entities, having served as a survey technician for Arrow Engineering and Surveying for five years and a project assistant in the State Cartographer's Office at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for one year. Notably, he was a team leader, surveyor and volunteer for the United Nations in Vientiane, Laos, for two years, having also spent one year as a survey officer for the Geodetic Survey Branch of Nepal and a surveyor for Catteral & Sutcliffe Associate in the United Kingdom.

Prior to establishing his prolific career, Dr. Bajracharya pursued a formal education at the Tri-Chandra College of Tribhuvan University in Nepal, receiving a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, physics and statistics in 1971. Subsequently, he relocated to England, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in land surveying sciences, with honors, from North East London Polytechnic in 1976. Dr. Bajracharya received a Master of Science in geodetic science and surveying (geodesy, photogrammetry and cartography) from The Ohio State University in 1986. He concluded his education in 1997 when he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in civil engineering (geospatial information engineering) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Additionally, Dr. Bajracharya holds several certifications, having been recognized as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the State of Idaho since 2002. Likewise, the first exam was certified by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1973, among other endorsements.

Throughout his longstanding career, Dr. Bajracharya has contributed to many scholarly and scientific publications, such as Gem State Surveyor, in which he authored several works between 2006 and 2023. Moreover, he has penned several meeting papers and seminar papers, as well as hosted workshops and conducted research in his field. To remain abreast of industry-related trends, Dr. Bajracharya maintains affiliations with the Idaho Society of Professional Land Surveyors and the American Society of Geodetic Surveying. He is a former member of the the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, and the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing and current member of National Society of Professional Surveyors.

As a testament to his success, Dr. Bajracharya has accepted a plethora of accolades. During his studies in the United Kingdom, he received British Council Scholarship Awards between 1972 and 1976. Furthermore, he was honored with the Fellowship Award from the American Association of Geodetic Surveying and American Congress on Surveying and Mapping in 1993. In 2007 and 2008, he was bestowed with the Outstanding Achievement in Faculty Service Award from the Idaho State University College of Technology. Although he has achieved many significant milestones, Dr. Bajracharya is especially proud of traveling to Nepal as a Fulbright scholar in 2014. Looking ahead, he endeavors to convert Idaho State University's learning management system models into a Canvas system.
