Well-regarded for his expertise in front-end user interface (UI) development, Mr. Khan hails from nearly two decades of experience in his chosen field. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Russian language and civilization and a Bachelor of Science in management information systems at Oakland University in 1998 and 1999, respectively, Mr. Khan embarked on his professional journey as a help desk analyst at The Bartech Group, an affiliate of the Ford Motor Company, in Dearborn, Michigan. In this capacity, he had the opportunity to answer questions from Ford employees, providing him with a valuable learning experience at a young age. From 1999 to 2005, he worked on various projects and assignments with both Ford Motor Company and Visteon Corporation, where he gained exposure to various aspects of the automotive industry. He also received a Master of Science in information systems at Lawrence Technological University during this time in 2003. The following year, he took on a role as a web specialist and technical writer, marking the beginning of his career in front-end UI development.
In 2005, Mr. Khan relocated to Maryland, where he became a government contractor working with the Department of Homeland Security. This transition led him to shift from his work as a desk analyst to a technical writing documentation specialist. Though his tenure as a technical writer was brief, it provided him with valuable insights into web content and the web development space. In the years to follow, Mr. Khan would provide his services as a web developer and UI specialist at several companies and government contractors, including Aeolus Systems, PRISM Inc., Hewlett-Packard, Verizon Wireless, Pfizer, Robert Half, the Jervis B. Webb Company, Ally Financial and Apex Systems, to name only a few. He also spent several years in a freelance capacity, during which time he built websites and advanced his skill competencies in a number of areas.
Among his career highlights, Mr. Khan is particularly proud of several significant projects he assisted with, all of which imparted him with valuable lessons and enabled him to either learn new technologies or enhance his existing skills. Among these experiences, he was involved with a project by the U.S. Postal Service to redesign their website, adapted to a Mac environment while working at Bristol Myers Squibb, and learned more about the health care industry at Hayes Inc. In the years to follow, Mr. Khan seized the opportunity to work on a project at Stubhub in North California, where he collaborated with database analysts as a user interface developer and enjoyed the freedom to build upon his own ideas.
A volunteer in his local community, Mr. Khan has maintained his involvement with a number of charitable endeavors, including Our Brother's Place and the Eastern Delaware Life Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has also provided blood to the American Red Cross and served as an instructor for Nepris Inc., which is now Pathful Connect.
In accounting for his success, Mr. Khan largely credits his ability to persevere and navigate various challenges in both his professional and personal life. He also benefited richly from the tutelage of various mentors, many of whom helped him in his quest to learn additional programming platforms and frameworks that have become essential to his profession. He is particularly grateful for Udemy, an online platform that has offered a wide range of affordable courses and enabled him to develop his expertise in a variety of technologies. His transformative experiences with Udemy have allowed him to not only rejuvenate his career but also allowed him to utilize his new skills at a greater level.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Khan hopes to continue growing operations at The Lion Club LLC. Having never owned his own company before, he anticipates a steep learning curve, but is excited to serve as a mentor on behalf of those in need of his expertise.
