NEW YORK, January 16, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leslie K. Gardner, Esq., has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Gardner currently serves as a managing director and associate general counsel at J.P. Morgan, a role she has held since 1992. In this capacity, she is the global practice head for the investment banking division, following its merger with a commercial bank. While she continues to oversee the same offerings as before, she now contributes to larger initiatives - to wit, in the United States, she manages a team of approximately 30 people, while her global team numbers close to 80. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Ms. Gardner availed herself as an attorney at Cahill, Gordon and Reindel from 1983 to 1992, where she honed her skills in legal practice before stepping into her current role.
Best noted for her expertise in organizational skills, people development, judgment, and risk analysis, Ms. Gardner's extensive experience in the industry has not only contributed to her success but has also allowed her to cultivate the talent of several excellent lawyers over the years. She is particularly proud of her involvement in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives for J.P. Morgan, as well as her contributions toward creating a safe and welcoming work environment.
Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Ms. Gardner studied history at Amherst College in 1980, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1980. Following this accomplishment, she graduated from New York University with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1983. Since then, she has attributed her success to good judgment, practicality, excellent people skills, and the ability to deliver difficult answers in ways that her clients can easily digest.
Outside of her professional life, Ms. Gardner is actively involved with several civic-minded organizations. She volunteers at a homeless shelter in Brooklyn, New York, and provides pro bono services for immigration issues through J.P. Morgan. Her commitment to social causes is further evidenced by her receipt of several awards, including Capital Market Awards and being named as the Honorary Woman Practitioner of the Year.
When she is not working, Ms. Gardner enjoys quality time spent with her family, as well as cooking, knitting, crafting and traveling to other countries. Looking ahead, she is focused on building a succession plan for her eventual retirement from J.P. Morgan. Ultimately, she anticipates engaging in board work for charitable institutions, writing a novel, and maintaining her connections within her homemaker community of friends.
