FARMINGTON HILLS, MI, January 17, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jordan A.W. Barkey has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Mr. Barkey is a distinguished litigation attorney specializing in automotive litigation at Michigan Auto Law, where he has served since 2018. In the course of his career with Michigan Auto Law, Mr. Barkey has collected over $1.5 million in settlements for his clients, including $250,000 in uninsured motorist benefits from a Monroe County accident. He also wrote a brief that was awarded $825,000 through disputed arbitration for a case involving a roll-over auto accident. In addition, Mr. Barkey has successfully appealed several orders in both state and federal appellate courts, even prompting a Michigan Court of Appeals panel to cancel oral arguments and issue a favorable opinion on the briefs alone.
Before joining Michigan Auto Law, Mr. Barkey served as a law clerk at Romano Stancroff, gaining invaluable experience that would shape his future career. He also served as a student attorney while in law school, working for the Free Legal Aid Clinic from 2012 to 2013, providing pro bono legal services to those in need.
Mr. Barkey's journey to becoming a lawyer is marked by personal and academic achievements. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in music from Adrian College in 2012, fulfilling a lifelong passion of his dating back to fifth grade. He then went on to law school at Wayne State University in Detroit, earning his Juris Doctor in 2014. Following this accomplishment, he was admitted to the bar for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in 2016.
Mr. Barkey's success can be attributed to the unwavering support of his aunt and the inspiration provided by his grandfather. He takes great pride in continuing a proud family history: he is a fifth-generation practicing attorney, as the Barkey family has been practicing law in Genesee County, Michigan, since 1912. During law school, two professors, Christopher Lund and Sarah Abramowicz, played crucial roles in mentoring him and enhancing his writing proficiency.
Mr. Barkey's is a member of the National Trial Lawyers Association and was named among The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch since 2022. Outside of his career efforts, Mr. Barkey is deeply committed to civic engagement and community service. He has volunteered at the Free Legal Aid Clinic of Detroit and participates in Feed the Homeless initiatives through the Genesee County Bar Association. He also enjoys theater, music, and axe throwing.
