UPPER MARLBORO, MD, January 17, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Misty W. Odom has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Odom currently serves as a Senior Program Analyst at United States Cyber Command, a position she has held since 2022. In this role, she uses the Department of Defense (DoD) Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process as a framework to ensure effective resource allocation. She was previously involved in acquisitions support at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency from 2021 to 2022 and supported Commander, Navy Installation Command from 2019 to 2021 where she contributed significantly to the agency's mission.

From 1993 to 2017, Ms. Odom served in the U. S. Navy, in which she received a commission through the Seaman to Admiral Program as a Surface Warfare Officer. After retirement from the Navy, Ms. Odom joined The Joint Staff as a Defense Resource Manager in 2018, where she gained valuable insight into federal budget execution, resource programming, and portfolio management. This experience was pivotal in her career, reflecting her dedication to serving her country both in uniform and as a civilian. Her journey throughout 24 years of Naval service from various earlier roles showcases a broad spectrum of expertise from strategic and operational planning, program management to ethical leadership within organizations such as the United States Naval Academy, Coastal Riverine Group 2 Detachment Bahrain, Coastal Riverine Squadron 2, USS Nicholas (FFG-47), USS Roosevelt (DDG-80), USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70), and Commander, Submarine Group 9.

Ms. Odom's academic journey has been the cornerstone of her professional success. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Hampton University in 2002, setting the foundation for her future endeavors. Her pursuit of knowledge continued with a Master's degree in Leadership Education and Development from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2009, a Master's degree in Military Operational Arts and Science from the U. S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College in 2015, and an MBA from the Jack Welch Management Institute in 2021. Her recent academic accomplishments include a Master's degree in Human Resource Management in 2023 and a Graduate Certificate in Educational Administration in 2024 from Strayer University, further demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

In addition, she earned an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from Harvard Kennedy School in 2019 with studies in Leadership for the 21st Century, Leading Non-Violent Movements for Social Change, and Leadership, Organizing, and Action: Leading Change. She also completed DoD Financial Management courses at Graduate School USA and Defense Acquisition University and received Project Management Professional training through Syracuse University.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Odom is deeply committed to advocacy and giving back to her community. She has been a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America since 2016, a consultant with GameChangers360 since 2017, a Gender Focal Point for Women, Peace, and Security since 2022, and supports causes such as Susan G. Komen for the Cure, The Salvation Army, and Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society. In recognition of her dedication to professional excellence, in 2023 and 2024, Ms. Odom was awarded by ANALYGENCE for exemplifying organizational core values.

Looking ahead, Ms. Odom aims to leverage her extensive experience and insights gained over years of service to establish a mentorship program for youth from underprivileged backgrounds.
