Supported by more than 35 years of professional excellence, Dr. Rairdon is well regarded in the education industry for his expertise in academic administration, management and teaching. Since 1993, he has served as a full professor at the National American University, where he has dedicated his time to lecturing students on topics of management for both in-person and virtual classes. Adjacent to this appointment, he was the academic dean at the National American University between 2012 and 2013. He also serves as an adjunct professor in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies at Colorado Christian University, who bestowed upon Dr. Rairdon its Gold Star Award in 2023.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Rairdon allocated much of his time to the United States military. Joining the United States Air Force in 1967, he progressed to the ranks of staff sergeant and site development specialist by 1971. During this time, he pursued undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University, where he joined the Reserve Officers' Training Corps and completed the Army Ranger course prior to his college graduation. Dr. Rairdon considers his completion of the Army Ranger course as one of his most significant accomplishments, emphasizing that the nine-week training course was rigorous and focused on leadership development - a value he would leverage in all his subsequent endeavors. As such, Dr. Rairdon earned a Bachelor of Arts in international studies at The Ohio State University in 1976 and accepted a commission as a military intelligence officer in the United States Army.
Following his departure from active service in the military, Dr. Rairdon entered the field of insurance, accepting the role of group sales representative with Hartford Insurance Group. As time progressed, he was promoted to regional managerial roles in its St. Louis, Missouri, and Denver, Colorado, offices. Likewise, he also served as a paralegal with the Rocky Flats Task Force of the United States Department of Justice before returning to insurance as a personnel member in the law department of Great-West Life, where he remained for the subsequent 18 years. During his tenure, Dr. Rairdon pursued higher education, earning a Master of Management from Webster University in 1993 and a Doctor of Management from Colorado Technical University in 2006.
To remain abreast of developments in his areas of expertise, Dr. Rairdon is a member of several organizations. A fellow of the Life Management Institute, he also served as vice president of Colorado Military Historians for six years. Looking toward the future, he aims to begin teaching classes at his local church.
