Before joining Upwork, Mr. Purwaha had an extensive career at Amazon, where he held various roles from 2014 until 2022. He began as a business analyst focused on product quality before advancing through positions such as program manager, product manager II, senior product manager and manager of technical product management. His tenure at Amazon was marked by impactful achievements, including receiving the Above and Beyond Award in 2016 for his outstanding contributions.

Providing Mr. Purwaha with the skills necessary for data analysis and leadership was his educational background. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering in computer science from Thadomal Shahani Engineering College in 2009, followed by a Master of Business Administration in marketing from Thunderbird School of Global Management in 2014. Additionally, he is certified as a Rational Functional Tester by IBM. During his academic years, he served as the president of Thunderbird School of Global Management's student government in 2014 and as its vice president the previous year. He also interned at EY in 2013 and gained foundational experience as a senior programmer with Accenture between 2009 and 2012.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Purwaha is actively involved in civic-minded organizations, including MAPS and Save the Children. In addition, he served as a project manager for ThunderCares at Thunderbird School of Global Management in 2012.
