HAMILTON, NJ, January 20, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Noel R. Vadell has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Drawing on a successful career spanning over three decades, Mr. Vadell currently serves as a senior forensic chemist with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. Since assuming the role in 1998, he has been responsible for the critical work of reviewing submissions from local law enforcement and state and federal agencies for the presence or absence of controlled substances. An expert in "club drugs," he is responsible for thoroughly assessing all materials forwarded by these entities, showcasing his expertise in the field.
Adjacent to his tenure with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Mr. Vadell served as an aerospace jet engine mechanic in the U.S. Air Force from 1988 to 2021. During his service, he was involved in significant operations including Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom; in 2006, he transferred to the DEA's Miami division and joined the Homestead Air Reserve Base, where he worked on F-16 fighter jets. A standout highlight of his career was his work in Afghanistan, where he was involved with two airframes under the Air Mobility Command. Despite enduring numerous mortar attacks, Mr. Vadell and his team successfully launched F-16 fighters, earning personal thanks from several pilots for their dedication.
Before joining the Air Force, Mr. Vadell worked as a chemist for DuPont at the Stein Haskell Research Facility in Delaware, where, as part of the insecticidal team, he tested around 50,000 compounds for their insect-killing properties. Although he found the work fulfilling, concerns about the unknown toxicity of some compounds led him to pursue a career in drug enforcement. His time at DuPont provided him with valuable chemical knowledge that has been instrumental in his current role.
Mr. Vadell's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Temple University. He attributes much of his success to his dedication and hard work, qualities that drove him to join the Air Force. Initially motivated by educational benefits, the tragic events of 9/11 would later profoundly shift his focus toward preventing similar events from occurring in the future.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Vadell has made significant contributions to reducing the availability of illicit substances through non-enforcement programs supported by the Drug Enforcement Administration. He also is committed to acknowledging when he is struggling and encourages all military veterans to seek help when needed. Despite facing challenges such as PTSD, he remains determined to move forward and live life to the fullest. His resilience and commitment to personal growth are testaments to his character and dedication.
