Before becoming an entrepreneur in the brokerage business, Mr. Gavin was affiliated with Chrysler Corporation as a supervisor for two years. He subsequently became an operating technician on the automobile assembly line, involved in engine production for bore machines and other apparatuses. During his tenure with the organization, Mr. Gavin also garnered expertise working on assembly lines for engine blocks. Moreover, he became fluent in dealing with upper management and unions.

Mr. Gavin is a Vietnam veteran who honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He was medically discharged after two years of service due to an injury. Among other civic involvement, Mr. Gavin has been affiliated with several for-profit and nonprofit organizations, including the Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance in Detroit. Through the alliance, he helps its mission to revitalize and sustain a healthy community that provides local citizens with access to a better quality of life. Through his involvement, Mr. Gavin has significantly impacted his community and remains committed to serving others as a devoted Christian.

Mr. Gavin received electronics training during his military service in the U.S. Army and credentials as a licensed notary. In light of his contributions to civic initiatives, the Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance awarded him the Key to the City Award.
