NAPLES, FL, January 21, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Don Horn has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A seasoned, board-certified pathologist, Dr. Horn retired from his work as a laboratory director in 2015. Over the years, he developed subspecialties in hematopathology, microbiology, surgical pathology, and anatomic pathology. During the early stages of his career, he gained valuable expertise in the field in a small laboratory in Florida. Similarly, he leveraged his considerable expertise as a clinical professor of pathology for Louisiana State University, where he worked for five years.

Before starting his professional career, Dr. Horn earned an MD from Cornell University's Joan and Sanford I. Weill Medical College in 1960. Subsequently, he completed an internship at the University of Hawaii and a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology through the University of Miami/Jackson Health System. Driven to further his professional knowledge, Dr. Horn finished two additional residencies in pathology, public health, and general preventative medicine at the University of Florida and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

To stay abreast of ongoing industry changes, Dr. Horn aligns himself with the American College of Physicians and the College of American Pathologists. Dedicated to his community, he supports the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. In the late-1960s, he also founded the New Orleans Poetry Association.

In light of his professional achievements, Dr. Horn was voted by second-year medical students at Louisiana State University as the physician who contributed most to their education. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in his academic work and successfully transitioning to laboratory work. Upon switching careers, he noticed a shortage of technology-trained personnel, which prompted him to train staff himself. Looking ahead, Dr. Horn intends to further his education and foster his love of poetry.
