WASHINGTON, January 21, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Yvonne Y. Malloy, MPP, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Malloy has secured a prominent position within the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA), where she has served as the chief operating officer and director of programs since 2023. Her journey with NHMA began in 2022 when she was appointed the director of programs, a title she maintains. Additionally, and in a demonstration of her adaptability, Ms. Malloy also accepted the responsibilities of interim executive director in 2023, showcasing her ability to effectively direct operations during periods of transition.
Before her tenure at NHMA, Ms. Malloy dedicated over two decades to improving women's health through key roles with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She initiated her career there as manager of AI/AN Programs in 1999 before advancing to become the director of AI/AN Women's Health Programs, a position she held from 2011 to 2022. In this capacity, Ms. Malloy ran an efficient program that required minimal supervision, which she cites as one of her most notable career accomplishments thus far.
Ms. Malloy's expertise in health equity advocacy is recognized through both her professional success and her academic achievements. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Carleton College in 1989 and subsequently completed a Master of Public Policy, with a focus on HUD/race and politics, from the prestigious Harvard Kennedy School in 1996. To broaden her qualifications relevant to policy analysis and implementation, Ms. Malloy obtained a diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in 2021.
A strong work ethic and an optimistic attitude are foundational to Ms. Malloy's advancement. She also takes opportunities to lead by example and prioritizes the maintenance of productive relationships with her team members. Additionally, Ms. Malloy remains committed to motivating those with whom she collaborates and to creating a healthy, positive work environment.
Ms. Malloy remains deeply involved in community service. Since 2006, she has volunteered as an ESOL instructor at Vienna Presbyterian Church, demonstrating her dedication to empowering others through education; notably, her many contributions to the community were recognized with a Volunteer Award. In addition to her professional and civic engagements, Ms. Malloy finds joy in personal pursuits such as reading, and she stays active through team sports, which provide balance and relaxation.
