As a highly accomplished information security and information technology (IT) manager, Dr. Neto has established himself as a pioneer in the field of cryptocurrency, digital market, and blockchain development. With over 20 years of diversified experience working in the military, for the United States government, in consulting roles, and in higher education, he has demonstrated his expertise in information assurance, cybersecurity, blockchain technologies, network administration, and the management of various IT operations. After earning a Doctor of Philosophy in information technology in 2021 from the University of the Cumberlands, where he completed a dissertation on blockchain technology adoption, he joined the faculty as an associate professor and subject matter expert to prepare the next generation of blockchain enthusiasts.
Drawing from his years of extensive experience working across various sectors to protect valuable assets, Dr. Neto integrates real world applications in his graduate courses on blockchain technologies and other related topics. At the start of his career, he worked as a logistics manager, developing computer systems for the U.S. Air Force for several years. Following his time in the Air Force, he applied his knowledge at Mid Florida Professional Group Inc. as an IT project manager. As his career progressed, the success Dr. Neto found in his first position motivated him to pursue consultancy roles along with instructional opportunities at higher education institutions.
Prior to teaching at the University of the Cumberlands, Dr. Neto served as a lead IT instructor at ITT Technical Institute, an IT coordinator and lead faculty instructor at Southern Technical College, and then returned to ITT Technical Institute as a comprehensive network solutions IT instructor. From 2011 to 2013, he resumed working in the military sector, as an information assurance instructor for the U.S. Marine Corps, where he taught data marine, computers, and cybersecurity-related information. Afterward, from 2013 to 2016, Dr. Neto worked as a special agent for the U.S. government, where he functioned as one of the top 100 information security defense security service special agents in the nation and was responsible for ensuring cybersecurity compliance and safeguarding national security contracts.
Leveraging his previous experience, Dr. Neto went on to serve as a lead cybersecurity analyst for Northrop Grumman for a year before joining PC-Warriors as a lead cybersecurity consultant, a position he has maintained for over five years and concurrently holds along with his associate professor status at the University of the Cumberlands. As a principal leader of an elite team of cybersecurity analysts at PC-Warriors, he provides technical and strategic guidance and researches, evaluates, and proposes state-of-the-art cyber solutions that use emerging technologies that push the boundary beyond the current market solutions.
Dr. Neto takes great pride in his extensive knowledge of automation and firmly believes that integrating automation into systems and properties increases efficiency, effectiveness, and quality. Moreover, he is particularly proud of his ability to identify business problems and design effective automation solutions that save time, money, and produce higher-quality products. Throughout his line of work, the biggest challenges he faces are technical ones. Such problems can often be massive and occasionally require months of dedicated research in order to remedy them; however, without knowing the complexity of a project, Dr. Neto accepts it and the inevitable challenges that come along with it, always persevering until a solution is found.
Over the course of his extensive career, Dr. Neto has earned several position- and field-specific credentials and holds membership with several instructional bodies within his field, including the Project Management Institute, CompTIA, and the International Information System Security Certification Consortium. Coupled with his doctorate and his recognition as a Dean's List student, he holds a Master of Science in business information systems and a Bachelor of Science in computer information systems from Bellevue University as well as an Associates of Science in business and logistics management from the Air Force Community College.
