Ms. Cohen Wood's career began as a system administrator at Digex in 1998. She subsequently served in various IT positions throughout the industry, including as an IT security administrator at Network Associates, a security engineer at Worldport Dublin, a senior security engineer at Verio, and a senior IT auditing professional for UKW. In 2004, she transitioned to the role of digital forensic instructor and course developer at Computer Sciences Corporation, and continued to grow her expertise as a senior lead computer forensic examiner for federal law enforcement at NASA.

Ms. Cohen Wood went on to work as a computer forensic examiner at IBM and at the Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center under General Dynamics. Her subsequent tenure at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) spanned from 2010 to 2015, where she held roles including cyber branch chief, deputy division chief, and science and technology directorate cyber lead. Following this period, she served as a cybersecurity expert at Inspired eLearning LLC, a director of cyber risk management and cybersecurity solutions at ATandT, and the executive director of cyber risk and workforce development at CyberVista.

In addition to her current endeavors with Dark Cryptonite, Ms. Cohen Wood has served as the founder and chief executive officer of MyConnectedHealth Inc. since 2020. Her vision for health care involves creating an integrated model where specialties collaborate globally through AI systems that select the best doctors for patients based on interdisciplinary cases. This approach aims not only to benefit patients but also to enhance health care professionals' skills through continuous learning. Driven by her personal experiences with autoimmune disease diagnosis challenges, Ms. Cohen Wood remains committed to improving the health care system by making it more collaborative, efficient and patient-centered.

Throughout her career, Ms. Cohen Wood has achieved significant milestones. She was named one of the Top 50 CISOs and Cybersecurity Leaders Shaping the Future in 2024 and one of the Top 30 Women in AI in 2023. She was also a finalist for Cybersecurity Woman of the Year in 2021. Her contributions have been recognized with awards such as the Excellence Award for Task Force Science and Technology Lead from the DIA in 2015 and multiple Performance Awards for Excellence from the same agency in 2011.

Ms. Cohen Wood's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and history from Simmons University. She holds a CISSP certification from ISC2, which has been instrumental in her professional success.

Eager to keep her hand on the pulse of the cybersecurity industry, Ms. Cohen Wood hosts regular shows on both the ITSPmagazine network and VoiceAmerica, through which she is the host of "My Connected Life."
