Mr. Felton has established himself as a distinguished professional in higher education enrollment and admissions. Currently serving as the director of strategic enrollment initiatives at Cornell University since 2023, he brings over two decades of experience to his role. In this strategy position, he focuses on undergraduate admissions and enrollment, particularly emphasizing the engagement of students from diverse backgrounds, including those who are underserved, underrepresented, and under-resourced. Mr. Felton's work extends beyond domestic borders through his involvement with the U.S. Department of State on outreach and engagement projects that connect with students from various countries, notably serving as the lead for Africa.

Before his current role, Mr. Felton was the executive director of undergraduate admissions and deputy chief admissions and enrollment officer on campus from 2014 to 2023. This followed his tenure as the deputy and interim director of undergraduate admissions between 2012 and 2014. Mr. Felton's career at Cornell University also included positions as senior associate director, university recruitment coordinator, international admissions coordinator, communications coordinator, and associate director of engineering admissions.

Before joining his prestigious institution, Mr. Felton began his journey in higher education as an assistant dean of admissions at the University of Virginia from 2001 to 2003. He taught those same courses at Piedmont Virginia Community College. Besides his academic commitments, Mr. Felton has been a consultant for the Office of Overseas Schools, U.S. Department of State, since 2014.

One of Mr. Felton's most notable accomplishments has been his contribution as an author to the book "Rethinking College Admissions: Research-Based Practice and Policy," edited by OiYan Poon and Michael Bastedo in 2022. He considers it a great privilege to be part of this remarkable publication.

Deriving a sense of satisfaction in empowering young individuals to discover their true selves and pave their path toward success, Mr. Felton has been active civically through volunteerism with the Lenfest Scholars Foundation since 2019. Founded in 2014, the nonprofit organization has been dedicated to helping rural students in south-central Pennsylvania to enroll and succeed in college via scholarships, college application assistance, and more.

The foundation for Mr. Felton's success was laid during his academic years at the University of Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in music, sociology, and psychology in 1995 and a Master of Arts in music composition and computer music in 1999, becoming recognized as a classically trained musician.

Mr. Felton's personal life is deeply intertwined with his passion for music and education. He enjoys playing various musical instruments, composing music, and writing. Looking ahead, he is enthusiastic about expanding his horizons through further education and dedicating more time to access and opportunity initiatives within education. Mr. Felton also plans to engage directly with students domestically and in Africa while sharing his insights through writing and publishing with colleagues in his field. As part of his ongoing professional commitments, he is an active member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
