Mr. Williams's career began in the financial sector; he worked as a bank teller at National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited and Citi in the 2000s before advancing to become the risk and compliance manager at JDF Cooperative Credit Union. His early career also included roles in academia, such as manuscripts processing assistant at Beinecke Library and orientation assistant at Yale University's Office of International Students and Scholars.

Academically, Mr. Williams holds a Master of Arts in religion from Yale University, earned in 2016, and a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Northern Caribbean University, completed in 2014. Additionally, he possesses a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of the West Indies, obtained in 2006. His academic achievements are underscored by his pride in maintaining a perfect grade point average during his college years. In addition to his exceptional academic background, Mr. Williams also attributes his success to his sheer drive to succeed, inspired by his upbringing in a single-parent household where his mother raised the family under challenging circumstances.
