Mr. Calviou, a distinguished leader in the energy sector, has dedicated over 30 years to his profession. Since 2023, he has been senior vice president of US Policy and Regulation at National Grid, where he continues to shape the organization's regulatory landscape. In this role, Mr. Calviou leads all regulatory activities and strategies and develops energy policy positions across the country.

A career at National Grid marked by a series of significant milestones, Mr. Calviou's journey with National Grid began in 1990. Over the years, he has ascended through various pivotal roles. The organization is based in London and is instrumental in energy infrastructure and transforming the energy system.

Previously, Mr. Calviou was influential as the group head of regulatory strategy, working to drive regulatory reform across the US and UK.  He was the senior vice president of US strategy and regulation, overseeing strategic initiatives and regulatory compliance. He was also senior vice president of regulation and pricing, instrumental in developing pricing strategies aligned with regulatory requirements. Among numerous other roles during his tenure, Mr. Calviou was the director of transmission network service, managing the transmission network's operations and ensuring its reliability. He also led the National Grid's System Operator function, responsible for real-time balancing of the UK's electricity and gas networks.  He also worked as the director of asset management for UK Transmission networks, focusing on optimizing asset performance and investment strategies. As the director of distribution customer support, Mr. Calviou was responsible for enhancing customer service operations in gas distribution. Earlier in his career, he led National Grid's input in the Review of Electricity Trading Arrangements in the UK, including the design of the short-term balancing mechanism.

Mr. Calviou's academic background laid a strong foundation for his professional achievements, including earning a bachelor's degree in theoretical physics from the University of Cambridge in 1990. He attributes his success to learning and sharing technical knowledge, collaborating with colleagues, and engaging in meaningful conversations that foster personal and professional growth.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Calviou is actively involved in industry-related organizations. He serves on the Alliance for Transportation Electrification board, contributing to advancements in transportation electrification policies and practices. Mr. Calviou's commitment extends beyond his professional life through his volunteer work supporting his local church and Christian community.

Throughout his career, Mr. Calviou has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills that he has worked hard to develop.
