Her commitment to her work is evident in her willingness to travel extensively across nine states to ensure effective recruitment.Prior to her current position, Ms. Payton was the provider network manager senior at Amerigroup, an Anthem Company in Hanover, Maryland, from 2017 to 2022. She was also a project manager at Staffing Etc., based in Hyattsville, Maryland, between 2012 and 2017, where she managed staffing requirements for licensed practical nurses across multiple facilities. Ms. Payton also served as a contract manager at Beacon Health Strategies in Washington, D.C., from 2011 to 2012 and held the position of ancillary service representative at Amerigroup Community Care in Hanover between 2010 and 2011, serving as a liaison responding to and preparing contracts and credentialing. Ms. Payton's earlier roles included the title of contract manager at Health Right Inc. from 2008 to 2010 and contract associate at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan for the Mid-Atlantic states, dating back to 2006.

Ms. Payton's earlier career was significantly shaped by over a decade of employment with Blue Cross of Western Pennsylvania. It was there that she developed a deep respect for leadership, honed her ability to work effectively with managers, and contributed significantly to organizational goals. This experience was particularly valuable when Ms. Payton oversaw staffing requirements for 100 licensed practical nurses across seven facilities at Jessup Correctional Institution in Maryland.

In preparation for her career, Ms. Payton earned an associate's degree in retail business management from Bradford Business Center in 1983. She also participated in several classes offered by Landmark Forum, which she found to be transformative experiences.

As part of her continued professional goals, Ms. Payton envisions a future where she continues to grow professionally and academically. She harbors ambitions of relocating to Columbus, Georgia, to establish her own consulting business in the health care sector.
