Hailing from extensive experience in teaching USPTA professionals and even a contender for the Davis Cup, Mr. Fong has distinguished himself as a distinguished tennis teaching professional. His career spans several decades and encompasses a variety of roles within the realm of tennis and education. Currently associated with Laguna Creek Sports Club as a semi-retired tennis teacher since 2020, he continues to share his expertise and passion for the game. His dedication to tennis is further exemplified by his ongoing role as a master professional with the United States Professional Tennis Association since 1994, a title that signifies the highest standard of excellence in tennis coaching.

Prior to his semi-retirement, Mr. Fong was deeply involved in the development and management of tennis programs across Northern California. His commitment to education and community service was evident during his tenure as executive director of the Northern California Education Foundation from 2009 to 2020. Likewise, between 2007 and 2020, he served as head tennis professional at California Family Fitness, further solidifying his reputation in the tennis community.

Prior roles to Mr. Fong's credit include his leadership at Racquet and Fitness Club of Davis from 2000 to 2005, during which time he served as tennis director. This position came after an extensive period of teaching and coaching at Sacramento City College from 1991 to 2001, where he was an associate professor and head tennis coach. Concurrently, he also served as the tennis director for the Natomas Racquet Club in Sacramento, where he established the region's first large summer day tennis camps. Mr. Fong's career in tennis coaching began at Cosumnes River College from 1985 to 1991, where he was an adjunct associate professor and head men's tennis coach. During this time, he notably led his team to victory during the first Bay Valley Conference Tennis Championship in 1990

In addition to his primary endeavors, Mr. Fong is the owner of Fong Properties, showcasing his versatility and business acumen outside the tennis court.

Building upon his professional achievements, Mr. Fong's academic background has been instrumental in his success. He earned a Bachelor of Science in physical education from California State University, East Bay, in 1971, followed by a Master of Arts in physical education from California State University, Sacramento, in 1973. That same year, he obtained teaching credentials in education from the University of the Pacific.

In addition to his degrees, Mr. Fong has attained prestigious certifications that have enhanced his teaching and coaching capabilities. He holds a USPTA Master Professional Certification, which is awarded to professionals who demonstrate mastery in teaching tennis. Furthermore, his USTA High-Performance Certification underscores his ability to train athletes at the highest levels of competition.
