BEVERLY HILLS, CA, January 22, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Orly Lavi Travish has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Leveraging more than 30 years of professional excellence, Ms. Lavi Travish is well-regarded for cultivating understanding, acceptance and critical thinking of language in educational spheres. Since 2018, she has served as the owner of 972 Education Inc., through which she has taught students and mentored educators worldwide. Focused on nurturing critical thinking skills and promoting good citizenship, Ms. Lavi Travish has embraced a proficiency-based approach to language teaching, aligned with the standards of organizations such as the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. To wit, Ms. Lavi Travish emphasizes that continuous learning has been crucial in honing her own skills, and she actively engages with the latest approaches in language education. In this regard, she has shared her expertise with educators across the globe, including in Australia, Canada, Europe and Israel, where she resided before immigrating to the United States in 2008. Her work has further enabled her to collaborate with English, Arabic and Hebrew teachers, allowing her to contribute to the global discourse on language pedagogy.

Prior to founding her own business, Ms. Lavi Travish served as the Hebrew department coordinator, Hebrew instructor and mentor-teacher at American Jewish University from 2017-2019, where she taught graduate-level and rabbinical students to critically assess existing language education practices. Recognizing the need to shift society's focus from teaching rigid rules to equipping students with practical language skills that would benefit them in real-world contexts, Ms. Lavi Travish's efforts culminated in a revised program which she presented to American Jewish University faculty members, resulting in much acclaim and solidifying her position as the Hebrew department chairperson.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Lavi Travish was a primary and middle school Hebrew teacher and a middle school Hebrew department chairperson at Pressman Academy from 2010-2017. During her tenure, she taught first-grade students how to read and write in Hebrew, allowing her to realize that she could educate students of any age group. Ascending from a classroom teacher to a Hebrew department chairperson, Ms. Lavi Travish noticed a significant gap between firstgrade and sixth-grade students in Hebrew language proficiency, thus prompting her to critically evaluate the language learning process and curate her own entrepreneurial venture in forthcoming years. Ms. Lavi Travish's career trajectory has exemplified not only her passion for education, but also her commitment to uniting society through language education, thereby fostering a greater understanding of the world with improved harmony and equity.

To prepare for her career, Ms. Lavi Travish pursued a formal education program in Israel, attending Bar-Ilan University and earning her bachelor's degree in Hebrew and Arabic language and literature. She received her teaching credential with additional certification in teaching diverse learners. In addition, Ms. Lavi Travish was awarded a certificate in linguistic editing.
She continued her studies and subsequently received a Masters of Education degree in educational leadership and administration from Derby College. Ms. Lavi Travish also holds several professional language education certifications, including a Hebrew Advisor's Certificate and an Oral Proficiency Interview tester certificate.

In a world that is rapidly transforming through technology, Ms. Lavi Travish has immersed herself as well as her students into 21st century learning modes using the most advanced technology, and, most recently, Artificial Intelligence, in her teaching.

As an innovative teacher, and as a change agent committed to elevating the status of the Hebrew language and to professionalizing the field of Hebrew education and Israeli culture nationally and internationally, Ms. Lavi Travish has always strived to advance effective teaching practices and optimize individual student achievements in Hebrew language acquisition.

To achieve this goal she organized IVRITECH, an online two-day conference for Hebrew language teachers worldwide, in 2023. The conference focused on incorporating Artificial Intelligence into Hebrew language lessons. This was achieved by showcasing the expertise of Israeli culture and language teachers. In August, 2024, she hosted a second conference. Both conferences featured top experts in the fields of second language teaching, Artificial Intelligence, and techno pedagogy.

Outside of her professional ventures, Ms. Lavi Travish has lent her expertise to MATI (Merkaz Tarbut Yisraeli), an Israeli cultural center, as head of educational content from 2009-2019. Affiliated with the cultural center for more than 10 years, she contributed by bringing plays from Israel for children, organizing Independence Day events, and hosting book clubs related to Israeli culture and language. Ms. Lavi Travish has, likewise, volunteered with the IsraeliAmerican Civic Action Network, a nonprofit organization advocating Israeli representation in American society. Ms. Lavi Travish's volunteer work has promoted Hebrew language learning in the Los Angeles public school system, which, she notes, has the potential to be pivotal in reducing antisemitism, violence, and animosity. To this end, she recently embraced the opportunity to translate two children's books by Vidya Nahar into Hebrew for the World Language Rich Library. The books were also translated into twenty additional languages by various language teachers. She was honored to represent the Hebrew language in this project.

Among the many highlights of her career, Ms. Lavi Travish is particularly proud of initiating two educational projects through 972 Education Inc. The first project, titled הספה״ על ״שפה" Safah Al Ha-Sapah" "Language on the Sofa," was initially designed for Hebrew teachers, professional development, and later expanded to include any language teacher proficient in Hebrew worldwide. The second project, titled במוזיאון״ ״זיכרון" Zikaron Bamuzeon" "Remembrance at the Museum," came as a result of a partnership with the Holocaust Museum in Los Angeles. The project serves as an educational extension of Holocaust Remembrance Day.

In May 2023, Ms. Lavi Travish, together with a colleague, launched the very first Hebrew podcast centered on the fascinating topics of teaching a second language, education, and culture named שניה״ שפה על אחת ״בשפה "In One Language about a Second Language."

In order to create the change Ms. Lavi Travish envisioned in the field of Hebrew language and Israeli culture education, she also created a Facebook page for the public to learn about the Hebrew language and Israeli culture, together with a public Facebook group named "Hebrew Words Around the World!" לעולם״ מסביב עבריות ״מילים, and 972Educators a Facebook group where she shares ideas and materials at no cost for Hebrew teachers from around the world, as well as teachers of other languages who speak Hebrew. This group currently has over 2500 teachers and other interested members.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Lavi Travish aspires to write poetry focused on her experiences as an Israeli immigrant in America.
