Before launching his firm, Dr. Miles was the chief alignment and implementation strategist at Lodestone R3 Inc. from 2014 to 2020, where he honed his skills in organizational change. He also spent several years in the classroom as an assistant professor of applied behavioral sciences at National Louis University between 2015 to 2016 and as an adjunct professor at Olivet Nazarene University from 2010 to 2014.
Among other noteworthy positions, Dr. Miles's expertise in business sustainability was developed during his tenure as the director of sustainability services and research at Perform Sustain between 2008 and 2014 and in his role at Sphinx Enterprises Ltd from 2004 to 2008. Earlier in his career, he was the director of economic development at University Park between 2001 and 2003 and the executive director of the Faith-Based Economic Development Consortium from 1999 to 2001.
Dr. Miles is highly educated, receiving a Bachelor of Science in management information systems from Park University in 1989, coursework in divinity, culture, and community formation at Howard University in 1995, a Master of Divinity in religion and community formation from Virginia Union University in 1996, a Doctor of Ministry in faith-based economic development finance from Virginia Union University in 2002, and a Doctor of Philosophy in public policy and administration from Walden University in 2015. He was also ordained as a clergy member in the American Baptist Churches USA, earned credentials as an economic development finance professional through Grow America (formerly NDC), and certified as a reiki master teacher from the International Association of Reiki Professionals.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Miles is actively involved with several professional and civic organizations, including the State Health Assessment and Improvement Planning, the Multi-faith Veteran Initiative, and the Marine Veterans Association. He is also a board member of the Social Entrepreneurship Alliance in Chicago and is associated with Jesus Name Apostolic Church in Waukegan, Illinois.
Dr. Miles's ability to analyze complex situations, identify critical components, and devise practical solutions has been instrumental in his professional success. Notably, while at Trinity in Richmond, he established robust ministry programs, launched a corporation for business and community development, and created a collective banking group that leveraged church resources for economic growth. Dr. Miles also attributes his professional accomplishments to positive thinking and personal growth, values instilled by his father, one of Chicago's first African American district commanders, and his grandfather, a Chicago policeman.
