SAN ANTONIO, January 30, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Blaise Labbe has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Mr. Labbe is a distinguished regional news director with over 20 years of experience in journalism, television, copy editing, broadcast and broadcast journalism. He currently oversees the news operations for Sinclair Broadcast Group in nearly 15 markets across more than five states. Mr. Labbe's career has been marked by a commitment to driving positive change through cultivating dynamic and productive newsrooms that embrace diversity, foster innovation and promote a culture of genuine inclusivity.

In 1998, Mr. Labbe's professional journey began when he was hired as a news operations manager at KENS-TV, where he contributed for several years. He then advanced to the role of assistant news director at the same station in 2001 and maintained that position until 2003, when he became the news director at KWTV, a position he held until 2009. Following that role, Mr. Labbe joined Griffin Communications as the director of digital content for a year before moving to KCTV, where he served as the news director from 2010 to 2013 before joining Sinclair Broadcast Group as the group news director in San Antonio in 2013.

Throughout his career, Mr. Labbe has been an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the Radio Television Digital News Association, the Edward R. Murrow Society, the Carole Kneeland Project and the Texas Press Association. Moreover, he holds membership with the National Association of Black Journalists, the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Such robust and diverse affiliations within his field have allowed him to stay connected with industry trends and continue his professional development.

Prior to gaining professional experience in his field, Mr. Labbe completed coursework in criminal justice at Cameron University in 1986. Overall, he attributes his career success to the incredible individuals who influenced him at a young age, teaching him valuable lessons about fairness, accountability and perseverance. Such principles have guided him throughout his career, leading him to create dynamic newsrooms that have prospered and have been at the highest productivity as a result of his focus on innovation and building a culture of true inclusiveness of both ideas and individuals.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Labbe is dedicated to civic engagement. Since 2013, he has volunteered with the Martin Luther King Foundation, demonstrating his commitment to community service and social justice. Outside of his career, he enjoys fishing, playing golf and cooking and takes pride in mentoring and supporting young professionals in journalism. Notably, he has helped launch the careers of Rosa Flores at CNN and Katie Dinda at ABC News.

Looking ahead, Mr. Labbe aims to continue mentoring the next generation of journalists while upholding the true essence of journalism--holding the powerful accountable and being a voice for the underrepresented. Coupled with his continued efforts to be a change agent for positivity, he plans to work on a book focusing on racism from a unique perspective. All in all, Mr. Labbe's dedication to his profession and community exemplifies his commitment to excellence and integrity in the field of journalism.
