Her career in mental health counseling is complemented by her work as a licensed massage therapist, a profession Dr. De Souza has pursued since 2011. In preparation for her career in the mental health sector, Ms. De Souza received a Bachelor of Science in social sciences from the University of Bridgeport in 2016, a Bachelor of Social Sciences with a miner in psychology completed in 2017, and a Master of Science in clinical mental health from Western Connecticut State University in 2019. The graduate program was completed in 2020. Her academic achievements have been instrumental in shaping her approach to counseling and therapy. Additionally, Ms. De Souza holds certifications as a waxing specialist from Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics and in clinical massage therapy from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy-Westport, both obtained in 2010.

Ms. De Souza's dedication to her profession is further exemplified by her membership in the American Massage Therapy Association, Psychology Today, The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, The Honor Society of Alpha Sigma Lambda, and The Honor Society of Zeta Omega Eta. Beyond her professional endeavors, she has actively participated in civic-minded organizations, frequently participating in fundraising events. From 2005 to 2008, she notably served as a helper and caretaker with Guardian Angels Home Health Care, demonstrating her dedication to community service.

Ms. De Souza's professional journey has been deeply influenced by the sacrifices and inspiration of her mother, who worked multiple jobs as a single parent to support her and her sister.
