Mr. McLaughlin's legacy is defined by his innovative contributions to the office equipment industry, particularly during his tenure at Sharp Electronics Corporation, where he implemented groundbreaking technologies that reshaped the industry landscape. Following his military service as an E-4 in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969, he entered the office equipment industry in 1969, where he has since held various influential positions. Mr. McLaughlin began his career as a sales representative at 3M Company, where he worked from 1971 to 1975.

After gaining experience at 3M, Mr. McLaughlin attended LaSalle University to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration. Upon graduating in 1976 and completing coursework in business administration and management at the International Institute for Management Development, he became the director of the national account division at Canon USA Inc., a position he held from 1982 to 1991, before serving as president of Duplifax for Canon USA from 1991 to 1995. While at Canon, Mr. McLaughlin devised the company's initial national account program, which was subsequently promoted by the company and backed by dealers.

Thereafter, Mr. McLaughlin held the title of vice president and director of operations at Savin, Ricoh USA, Inc. from 1995 to 2002. Upon establishing himself, he assumed the presidency of a sales subsidiary in Philadelphia, where several innovative initiatives were undertaken. The subsidiary subsequently became a prominent channel partner for NeXT computers under Steve Jobs' leadership, culminating in both a close working relationship with Mr. Jobs and the development of various products.

In 2002, Mr. McLaughlin began his impactful tenure at Sharp Electronics Corporation. As president of the Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America, he implemented groundbreaking technologies that reshaped the office industry landscape and defined his legacy. Specifically, he revitalized the office equipment division, steering it away from over five years of decline and leading significant breakthroughs in intelligent multifunctional technology for copiers.

As a result of Mr. McLaughlin's efforts in implementing open systems architecture, he redefined multifunctional devices and set new standards for digital workflow integration. After nearly a decade as president, he served as an executive advisor for Sharp Electronics Corporation from 2011 to 2013 before stepping into the role of president and chief executive officer of Valderus from 2013 to 2016.

Mr. McLaughlin's leadership further entails serving as vice chairman of Innovolt Inc. from 2016 to 2017 and president from 2017 to 2019. Following his time there, he joined Nexera, now BEI Services, in 2019 as an executive advisor, where he contributed until 2023, and concurrently stepped into the same role for Wellington Private Capital at Wellington Management Company LLP, where he continues to offer his expertise.

In 2020, Mr. McLaughlin co-founded Predictive InSight, where he continues to serve. By establishing his company, his goal was to create positive change, facilitate industry progress and enhance efficiency. All in all, he views the most rewarding aspect of his endeavors as the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. For his innovation and impact, Mr. McLaughlin has been recognized with numerous awards throughout his career, including the BTA Lifetime Achievement Award from Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America in 2012 and the Lifetime Achievement Award from Marketing Research Associates in the same year. Furthermore, he was named Executive of the Year by Marketing Research Associates in both 2010 and 2007 and an Executive to Watch by Philadelphia Business in 1994.

Coupled with his aforementioned leadership roles, Mr. McLaughlin's career is further distinguished by his involvement with industry-related organizations, such as serving on the board of advisors for Continuum at ConnectWise LLC from 2014 to 2019, as chairman of the audit committee on the board of directors for Sharp Electronics Corporation from 2003 to 2011 and as a member on the boards of the Managed Print Services Association and the Business Technology Association. In addition to his professional achievements, he has been involved in various projects and publications. In reflecting on his career, Mr. McLaughlin views himself as a fortunate individual who attributes his success to fortuitous circumstances, unforeseen encounters with opportune situations and a proactive mindset that capitalizes on these opportunities.

Born in Philadelphia, Mr. McLaughlin began his journey from a middle-class background and steadily worked his way up to achieve success. All in all, he finds fulfillment in acquiring knowledge, embracing life, cherishing his family and friends and appreciating each day. Outside of his professional life, Mr. McLaughlin enjoys playing golf with his three sons and singing, and he has performed between 10 to 15 times on Bob Egan Live! on YouTube as a guest singer.
