Ms. McClain's foray into the non-profit sector began in 1993 when she co-founded a company in Jamison, Pennsylvania, with a focus on therapeutic interventions in schools nationwide. With a background in teaching and therapy, Invo Healthcare Associates started from her basement with several of her daughter's friends as initial employees. The company's innovative approach to occupational and physical therapy quickly gained recognition, leading to its high demand by school districts. Over time, it expanded to different states and added more therapies, significantly impacting the lives of many young individuals. Ms. McClain's journey is a testament to her passion and dedication to making a difference in the lives of others.

During Ms. McClain's tenure at Invo Healthcare Associates, she also served as the chief executive officer of Vistage between 2013 and 2015, the world's leading business advisory and executive coaching organization. Earlier in her career, she held several key positions in other organizations. She was the vice president at Medifast Inc. from 1992 to 1993 and a national director of training and development at Diet Center Inc., GNC, between 1989 and 1992.

Throughout her career, Ms. McClain has also been highly active with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, contributing to the well-being of children with critical illnesses. She began by serving on the advisory board for the nonprofit's Southern Florida location from 2019 to 2022, as a board member between 2019 and 2022, and as a board of directors member from 2020 to 2022. Subsequently, Ms. McClain became affiliated with the Make-A-Wish Georgia location on its board of directors in 2023. Among other affiliations, she helped sponsor the Special Olympics.

Ms. McClain's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English and secondary education from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania, in 1971. She furthered her education by obtaining a reading specialist certification from Pennsylvania State University in 1972.

Honoring her expertise, Ms. McClain received the Cynthia E. Welder Award from the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit 23 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, in 2005. She was also recognized with the 2014 SmartCEO Future 50 Award and SmartCEO Brava! Award in Philadelphia. In light of her impactful work with Make-A-Wish Southern Florida and Georgia, Ms. McClain earned several awards, including the Foundation of the Year Award in 2019.
