Dr. Roy is an accomplished associate director of formulation development in RNA therapeutics at Aviceda Therapeutics, a disruptive clinical-stage biotech company in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a position she has held since 2023. With over 20 years of experience in her profession, she has made significant contributions to various industries through her innovative work and leadership. Notably, Aviceda Therapeutics specializes in designing drugs to specifically target a particular organ or region in the body. This targeted drug delivery uses RNA or DNA to create biological medicines that do not cause harm like traditional drugs.

Leveraging over 15 years of relevant experience, Dr. Roy's career began as a safety officer at the University of Southern California from 2008 to 2012. She also served as a polymer science and engineering research scientist at the University of Massachusetts Amherst between 2011 and 2013. Dr. Roy's tenure at The Lubrizol Corporation from 2014 to 2020 was marked by her role as an innovation and new product development group leader, where she managed a team of engineers, scientists, and technicians. During this period, she developed a cost-effective membrane purification system for water, which led to a successful business.

In 2020, Dr. Roy joined Lyndra Therapeutics as a principal investigator, formulation lead, and CMC lead. There, she played a pivotal role in developing a slow-release drug delivery system designed to remain in the stomach for 20 days, aimed at treating mental illnesses such as schizophrenia. More recently, Dr. Roy was the scientific director for lipid nanoparticle and polymer nanoparticle-based delivery at Phosphorex LLC from 2022 to 2023.

Throughout her career, Dr. Roy has notably been awarded seven patents in intellectual property and is currently writing two more. As a seasoned researcher, she has also authored/co-authored numerous scholarly journal articles in the European Journal of Organic Chemistry, the Journal of Peptide Science, and other relative publications.

Dr. Roy's academic background includes a Master of Science in biotechnology from the University of Calcutta in 2003 and a Doctor of Philosophy in polymer, organic, nanomaterial, and supramolecular chemistry in 2011. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in polymer chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2013 and received a diploma with a specialization in leadership and management from Harvard Business School in 2022.

Dr. Roy is also an active member of several industry-related organizations, such as the American Chemical Society, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and the Cambridge Chemical Safety Organization. Additionally, she has been a member of the Boston Chapter of Chief since 2022. Apart from her work-related ventures, Dr. Roy has been involved in empowering females to achieve financial freedom. She is also passionate about conserving nature and is active on a local drug delivery school committee.

Dr. Roy has received numerous accolades for her accomplishments, including an award from the American Chemical Society, a Young Chemist Award, and several from the University of Southern California. In 2017, she was also honored with an award from The Lubrizol Corporation's chief technology officer and executive board for her collaboration in research.

Dr. Roy is eager to advance in her career and aspires to gain greater recognition in drug delivery through increased publications and patents. She also aims to establish her own company eventually while continuing to contribute significantly to scientific advancements.
