NEW YORK, February 02, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Bill Staab with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Staab celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A devoted leader in New York City's running community for 45 years, Mr. Staab is recognized for his contributions as the longtime president of the West Side Runners Club, a competitive team that embraces runners of all distances and abilities. In this capacity, Mr. Staab organizes races domestically and abroad, while also dedicating himself to supporting runners both in running and personal needs. Since 1980, he has worked closely with immigrant athletes to help them participate in races; this includes such outreach as providing them with visas, green cards, legal help, and asylum. Despite Mr. Staab's own role as president being unpaid, he generously pays for runners to enter races and arranges for them to receive free lodging and transportation.

An avid racer, himself, Mr. Staab has participated in an astounding 850 contests throughout his running career. His pursuits have seen him leading the men's team in New York City and also leading projects in Brazil, Singapore, Japan and other locations around the globe. His work has been featured in such prominent publications as The New York Times.

In his professional life, Mr. Staab enjoyed a long and successful career in international business, serving 34 years as general manager in international trading for the industrial and technology company Thyssen Incorporated. Other career highlights included a decade at United States Steel International Inc. and time spent abroad in Europe and Liberia, as well as time in the Peace Corps. He holds a bachelor's degree in history and foreign trader from the University of Wisconsin-Madison

Since retiring at the age of 68, Mr. Staab has dedicated himself to volunteering and engaging in travel and culture activities, including reading, attending the opera, enjoying classical music, gardening and engaging in politics. He also remains engaged as a chief fundraiser for the West Side YMCA, president of the University of Wisconsin Student Association Social Board, and member of the New York Road Runners.
