In 1997, she joined Erie County as a public defender, and in 2000 she became as assistant prosecutor for the County. She spent the majority of her career, 23 years, here. She was the criminal chief prosecutor and received an Ace Award for her work on child abuse cases that she prosecuted and won. In 2020, Ms. Lippert transitioned back to self-employment, allowing her to take on legal cases about which she felt passionate. This period of her career was marked by a deep sense of fulfillment as she could select cases that aligned with her values and expertise. She attributes much of her success to the influence of her late mother, who defied societal expectations in the 1960s and 1970s by working tirelessly to provide for her family.
