Among other noteworthy roles, Dr. Maddox was a principal investigator at IRIC and an assistant professor at the University of Montreal during the same time frame between 2007 and 2013. His early career included a postdoctoral fellowship at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research from 2003 to 2007.
Dr. Maddox is highly educated. He graduated from UNC at Chapel Hill, earning a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1995, a second bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology in 2003 and a Doctor of Philosophy in biology in 2003.
Active in his professional community, Dr. Maddox is a member of the American Society for Cell Biology and the Biophysical Society. As a scholar, he has also contributed significantly to scientific literature, authoring over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Maddox is committed to civic engagement as a laboratory host for the National Science Foundation.
