Mr. Sexton is lauded for his work as a distinguished project management professional and expert in enterprise resource planning with a focus on human resources, payroll, and financial systems. Since 2011, he has been instrumental as a manager and advisor for state and local government at KPMG LLP in Las Vegas. Before joining the Big Four accounting firm, Mr. Sexton was a PeopleSoft consultant at Optimum Solutions Group LLC from 2004 to 2011. His responsibilities included implementing and optimizing PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) systems for various clients. Mr. Sexton also garnered success as a PeopleSoft HCM consultant at FSI Systems between 2002 and 2004 and at Hunter Group from 1998 to 2001. Mr. Sexton began his career in human resources at Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, where he worked from 1993 to 1998.

In addition to his corporate roles, Mr. Sexton owned a real estate company from 2002 to 2011. This entrepreneurial venture allowed him to apply his business acumen and project management skills in a different industry, further broadening his professional experience.

Mr. Sexton's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in hotel administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1992 and a Master of Business Administration from Capella University in Minneapolis in 2021. His education has been instrumental in his career development, providing him with the knowledge and skills necessary for his various roles. Additionally, Mr. Sexton became highly qualified in his field, earning credentials as a certified project management professional through the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Deeply involved in professional and civic organizations, Mr. Sexton is active as a member of PMI. He has also been a volunteer staff member for the United Service Organizations since 2017 and a board member for the University of Nevada Las Vegas Hospitality Alumni since 2020 and is an active member of Toastmasters International, where he has honed his public speaking and leadership skills. Additionally, Mr. Sexton attributes much of his success to the influence of Tony Robbins, a renowned motivational speaker, where he has notably volunteered at Robbins' events and emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning by reading extensively on coaching and skill development.
