Shaw Elementary, among others. Her leadership skills were further recognized when she was an assistant principal at the Paul L. Dunbar School. Ms. Jackson Robertson then expanded her influence through roles with the East Baton Rouge School Board, contributing to the educational journeys of students at Lanier Elementary, Bernard Terrance Elementary, and Park Elementary. Returning to New Orleans, she continued her impactful work with the Orleans Parish School Board before joining James M. Singleton Charter as a principal, showcasing her ability to lead and inspire students and teachers.
In addition to her work at the primary school level, Ms. Jackson Robertson has served in various leadership positions that support higher education, such as college advisor for Southern University and AandM College and regional secretary for Southeastern University.
Throughout her career, Ms. Jackson Robertson has held significant additional roles that underscore her leadership within the educational community. Most notably, she chaired the Algier Charter School Association student success team. She was also a grade level and department chairperson with the Orleans Parish School Board, where she demonstrated exceptional dedication to student success and teacher support.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Jackson Robertson's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and a Master of Science in educational administration from the University of New Orleans in 1991 and 2000, respectively. Her certifications in elementary education for grades one through eight and educational administration leadership have been pivotal in her professional development.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Jackson Robertson is deeply committed to serving her community through her involvement with Saint Vincent Lay Missioner at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, which aims to support unhoused and marginalized members of society. Her dedication is also reflected in her contributions to Saint Raymond and St. Leo the Great Catholic Church as a member, lector, liturgical dancer, and director of religion. Ms. Jackson Robertson's contributions have earned her numerous awards, including the Orleans Parish Teacher of the Year in 2000, the Assistant Principal Spirit Award and the Geraldine Dean Washington Award in 2005, and the Making a Difference Award from Dillard University in 2015.
