KATY, TEXAS, February 04, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Steve Harter has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

At nine years old, Mr. Harter began picking strawberries for $.05 a quart. Throughout childhood, he attended the "School of Hard Knocks," bailing hay, cleaning manure, and becoming a self-employed carpenter. Due to his struggles, he was driven not to repeat them. While studying at Carrollton High School, he was determined to become the best athlete possible, serving as a football, wrestling, and track team captain. Considering his family's lack of finances, he also decided to learn a trade to provide for himself, attending Buckeye Joint Vocational School to study carpentry. His superintendent at the vocational school reached out to a friend at Mount Union College, Coach Wable, who recruited Mr. Harter to play football and attend the college.

Upon graduating high school in 1980, Mr. Harter attended Mount Union College, majoring in business and accounting while playing football and wrestling. Due to dyslexia, he struggled academically. However, his coach said, "You are not applying yourself in the classroom like you do on the football field. If you want to be All America, you must make the dean's list." This motivated him to work hard both on and off the field, which resulted in him becoming the National Wrestling Coaches Association's Scholar All-American in 1983.

Mr. Harter graduated from Mount Union College the following year and began his professional career as a senior accountant with Arthur Andersen. Subsequently, he joined Allwaste, Inc. as a mergers and acquisitions professional before establishing Notre Capital Ventures in 1993. Within its first five years, he created and launched eight companies that resulted in IPOs on the New York Stock Exchange and have generated more than $7 billion annually. Over the years, he has established over 25 companies, including Texas Taxi, which acquired Yellow Cab Services in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. He endeavored to ensure everyone was treated with dignity and respect through the organization. An acclaimed businessman, Mr. Harter also serves as the chairman and owner of Knomatic, a low-code software that brings mobile technology and digital assistance to business processes.

In conjunction with his work, Mr. Harter is aligned with AICPA and dedicates himself to several charitable organizations. Apart from his contributions to the 200-man Mount Union Wable-Harter locker room, he has donated thousands of bicycles to Changing Young Children's Lives through Education, established the Adopt-a-Middle-School program dedicated to struggling middle schools in Houston, and supported Mexican-American studies at the University of Houston through scholarships and as fundraising chair.

Due to his vast breadth of knowledge, Mr. Harter been featured in Forbes, Business Week, CFO Magazine, and several other publications. Similarly, he was honored in the Class of 2024 Academic All-American Hall of Fame at Mount Union College, through which he also earned an Outstanding Alumni Award. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in leading eight companies public on the New York Stock Exchange with the help of such underwriters as Bear Stearns and Alex Brown.

Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Harter credits his success to his Coach Ken Wable, who was like a father figure to him, Coach Montgomery, his offensive line and wrestling coach, Coach Harris, a legend in the football world, and several mentors at Arthur Andersen. Looking toward the future, Mr. Harter intends to experience his career's continued growth and success.
