Before joining his firm, Mr. Jenevein was associated with Vial Hamilton Koch and Knox in 2005. His judicial experience includes serving as a judge in Dallas County from 1999 to 2002, where he was elected presiding judge of the Dallas County Court of Law responsible for civil cases, including the first asbestos trial in the Dallas County Courts at Law. Earlier in his career, Mr. Jenevein was an associate attorney at Haynes and Boone LLP between 1991 and 1993. Mr. Jenevein's most notable achievement came when he prevailed in an arbitration against the People's Republic of China. He demonstrated that several state-owned entities were alter egos of one another, leading to an arbitration panel awarding him and his team approximately $70 million. This award was upheld in federal court and by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit Court of New Orleans, although the United States Supreme Court did not grant a review. Another highlight of Mr. Jenevein's career included setting aside a mayoral election based on voter fraud, showcasing his commitment to justice at every state and federal judiciary level in the U.S. and Texas. Moreover, he has been credited with trying more jury cases in his first year than any other civic court in Dallas County's history and has completed over 2,000 mediations since 1994.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Jenevein completed coursework in politics and economics at Saint Mark's School in 1980 before earning a Bachelor of Science in Canadian government and politics from Washington and Lee University in 1984. Additionally, he garnered a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University in 1991.
Outside his professional life, Mr. Jenevein is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association. He has also served as a panelist for Judicial Workplace and the American Arbitration Association. Furthermore, Mr. Jenevein is actively involved with Literacy Volunteers of America, reflecting his commitment to civic engagement.
In light of his success, Mr. Jenevein was voted one of Dallas's Best Lawyers by D Magazine five times and received recognition from the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals.
