Mr. Kanyo is a distinguished professional currently working in the health insurance industry. For over five years, he has served as an advisor and insurance agent at Kanyo Health Insurance, which provides health, dental and vision insurance as well as group and self-employed coverage and human resources support. Since venturing into this field, Mr. Kanyo has become licensed in 30 states around the country and has demonstrated his expertise in health, life and benefits insurance.

Since acting as an advisor and insurance agent, Mr. Kanyo has become a $2 million producer--an achievement that underscores his proficiency and dedication to his field. Prior to entering into the health insurance space, he enjoyed a robust and diverse career in maritime operations. He earned a Bachelor of Science in marine transportation and business from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1989, which paved the way for his initial role as a third mate at Ocean Ship Holdings Inc. in 1991. Following his time there, Mr. Kanyo served in human resources and crew coordination at ENSCO Inc. from 1994 to 2000, where he honed his skills in personnel management.

From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Kanyo worked as the assistant personnel manager at SeaMar Management LLC, further developing his expertise in managing maritime personnel. Thereafter, he transitioned to Gulf Fleet Management LLC, where he served as an operations supervisor from 2003 to 2006. Mr. Kanyo's career continued to progress as he took on the role of business development executive at C-Mar, a position he held from 2006 to 2008.

Mr. Kanyo's leadership abilities were further recognized when he became the deputy manager of the DP Group at GL Noble Denton, now DNV, where he contributed between 2008 and 2012. He then served as a senior manager of marine operations at Marine Spill Response Corporation from 2012 to 2014, followed by roles as a senior principal surveyor and a quality management systems manager at Global Maritime from 2014 to 2015.

In 2015, Mr. Kanyo joined Oceaneering as the charter vessel operations manager, a position he held until 2017 when he became the cargo superintendent and project manager at Vessel Blenders LLC for a year. Following his diverse experience across various maritime roles, he leveraged his skill set to step into his current position at Kanyo Health Insurance. In addition to Mr. Kanyo's professional achievements and experience, he has a notable military background, having served as a naval aviator in the U.S. Navy from 1989 to 1990.

To date, Mr. Kanyo cites his admission into the Naval Flight School as one of his most significant career accomplishments. Outside of his professional life, he is actively involved in several civic organizations. Since 2009, he has been a computer and meet operator for Katy Aquatics, demonstrating his continued commitment to the maritime field and community service. Looking ahead, Mr. Kanyo aims to continue working towards becoming a $5 million producer in his current field.
