HOUSTON, February 05, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Angela Birch Cox has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Hailing from over two decades of experience in legal service, Ms. Cox has since reoriented her career priorities toward the field of strategic nonprofit management. As the strategic projects director at Houston Habitat for Humanity Inc., she has been instrumental in developing over 125 acres of land into housing and mixed-use space, a pioneering initiative for a Habitat affiliate in the United States. This project includes creating more than 465 units of single-family housing and 500 units of multifamily housing along with commercial retail space.

Before her tenure at Houston Habitat for Humanity, Ms. Cox was a relationship manager at United Way of Greater Houston from 2010 to 2013, during which time her leadership led to the growth of the second-largest workplace campaign each year. She also brought her corporate expertise to United Way by helping establish three-year plans for various accounts.

Ms. Cox's legal acumen was honed through various roles at The Coca-Cola Company and its subsidiary, The Minute Maid Company, where she served as assistant general counsel and group counsel, among other positions, from 1989 to 2008. Notably, during her time with Coca-Cola North America from 2005 to 2008, she introduced the Simply Orange brand and negotiated the naming rights for Minute Maid Park. She initially began her legal career as an associate attorney at Thompson, Hine and Flory from 1987 to 1988 before clerking for The Honorable Gilbert Merritt.

To remain aware of developments in the field, Ms. Cox has served as a member of both the Houston Bar Association and the Houston Lawyers Association, reflecting her commitment to her profession and community. Building upon a solid educational foundation, she initially studied at Spelman College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in 1981, followed by a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the following year. Following this accomplishment, she attended the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, receiving a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1987. She also undertook coursework at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University through the Women Director's Development Program.

Ms. Cox attributes her success to hard work, as well as prioritizing people and the investment others have made in her development. Looking ahead, she is committed to completing the transformative project with Houston Habitat for Humanity and exploring opportunities to serve on for-profit boards. With her unique blend of nonprofit and for-profit experience across legal and business sectors, she is poised to bring her comprehensive expertise full circle while continuing to make a positive impact on communities and industries alike.
