Before embarking on his career as a businessman, Mr. Johnson gained valuable expertise in educational administration as the vice president of advancement for The College of Idaho, Niagara University, and Houghton College, through which he helped grow the school's fundraising from $15 million to $50 million. During the early stages of his career, he also served as the senior director of Ketchum, Inc. and worked with Westinghouse. An expert in his field, he earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in the early 1970s. Subsequently, Mr. Johnson became a certified fundraising executive through CFRE International. He also received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Divinity in ethics from Vanderbilt University and Yale University.

In conjunction with his work, Mr. Johnson has been a steadfast community advocate and volunteer, serving as a Southwest Idaho Planned Giving Council board member since 2012. Additionally, he has leveraged his considerable expertise to publish such works as "The Eight Principles of Sustainable Fundraising New International Edition" and "The Eight Principles of Sustainable Fundraising: Transforming Fundraising Anxiety into the Opportunity of a Lifetime."

Given his professional achievements, Mr. Johnson has been honored many times. In addition to being featured as a top professional in The Wall Street Journal, he was named to America's Top 25 Fundraising Experts in Nonprofit Funding, a Top 25 Fundraising Expert through Business of Giving: Philanthropy Media, a Top 15 Most Effective Fundraising Consultant in the USA through Wall Street Business Network, and an Outstanding Development Executive through the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
