Ms. Herndon has received several prestigious awards throughout her career, including the National Award from the U.S. Department of Energy in 1997. Earlier in her career, she also won an Environmental Leadership Award from the governor of Louisiana and an Achievement Award from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
