Mr. Rahman is a distinguished executive director at Sunrise Senior Living, where he has served for four years. As a health facility administrator, he is responsible for conducting morning meetings with department heads, ensuring compliance with daily tasks, reviewing reports and overseeing all departments. His expertise in long-term patient care and the safety of both patients and staff has been instrumental in his professional journey.
Mr. Rahman's career began as a testing center proctor at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in 2017. He then transitioned to a patient care coordinator role at St. Vincent from 2018 to 2020. During this period, he also gained experience as a human resources intern at Trilogy Health Services LLC. In 2020, he embarked on an administrator-in-training position at American Senior Communities, paving the way for his subsequent roles.
In 2021, Mr. Rahman served as interim director at Washington Healthcare Center, where his most notable achievement was his promotion to executive director. Shortly after assuming this role, he built a trusting relationship with a challenging patient who had a difficult background and exhibited disruptive behavior. Through his consistent efforts and genuine care, he facilitated a positive change in the patient's outlook by reporting her situation to social services.
Following his success at Washington Healthcare Center, Mr. Rahman continued his career as an executive director at American Senior Communities from 2021 to 2022, and later as a health facility administrator from 2022 to 2023. Setting a solid foundation for his career, Mr. Rahman obtained a Bachelor of Science in health services management, public administration, and health management from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in 2018, followed by a master's degree in health care administration from the University of Indianapolis in 2020.
Mr. Rahman attributes his achievements to maintaining a receptive attitude and approaching each encounter as an opportunity for personal growth. His journey into the health care profession began during his undergraduate studies when he worked as a patient care coordinator in an emergency room department. This experience led him to pursue further opportunities, including an administrator-in-training position, that ultimately shaped his career path.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Rahman is actively involved in various civic-minded organizations. He volunteered at IU Health Methodist Hospital from 2017 to 2018 and served as an activity leader at the YMCA of the USA from 2016 to 2017. Since 2014, he has been an activity volunteer at Trilogy Health Services LLC and a student volunteer at Ronald McDonald House Charities. Outside of his career, he enjoys working on cars with friends, traveling and taking road trips. Looking ahead, he is focused on reaching the C-suite level within his current organization.
