Harry Penate is a distinguished retired special agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) at the U.S. Department of Justice whose career has spanned over three decades. Currently, he serves as a consultant and law enforcement subject matter expert with B3 Solutions LLC, a role he has held since 2018. Additionally, he has been an advisor and consultant for the U.S. Department of Justice ATF since 2017, leveraging his extensive experience to provide critical insights into law enforcement operations.

From 2017 to 2018, Mr. Penate was the regional pharmaceutical investigations and security advisor for Laboratorios Vijosa, where he applied his investigative skills to the pharmaceutical sector. Prior to this, he served as the regional attach and regional firearms advisor for the ATF from 2012 to 2017.

Before assuming these roles, Mr. Penate held tenure as the ATF resident agent in charge at the Syracuse New York Field Office from 2010 to 2012, where oversaw significant operations and ensured compliance with federal regulations. From 2007 to 2010, he was the ATF assistant country attach in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, supporting joint government initiatives between Mexico and the U.S. on firearm and explosives technical assistance requests.

Mr. Penate's earlier career includes serving as an ATF special agent assigned to the San Diego Police Department Narcotics Unit from 1997 to 2007 and contributing to the ATF and NYPD joint firearms trafficking task force from 1994 to 1997. His career began as an ATF inspector from 1991 to 1994 in New York, where he regulated licenses and permits related to alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives.

Mr. Penate's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice and fire safety from New Jersey City University, which he earned in 1989. He has also completed specialized training programs, such as Leadership Skills for New Supervisors in 2011 and ACS Training in 2004. With a strong foundation in these achievements, he has demonstrated exceptional success through his proactive involvement in investigating and prosecuting individuals involved in trafficking firearms and explosives, armed narcotics traffickers and violent armed felons.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Penate enjoys reading in his leisure time and spending time with his family.
