Dr. Ela Ondo is a distinguished medical professional with significant expertise in family medicine and public health. Currently associated with the Timone Hospital in Marseille, France, he has dedicated his career to improving health care outcomes and advancing medical knowledge.

Originally from Cameroon in central Africa, Dr. Ela Ondo's professional journey in the medical field began after he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in general medicine from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of the Mediterranean, France, in 1999. In 2012, Dr. Ela Ondo furthered his education after immigrating to the United States by obtaining a Master of Public Health in epidemiology from the Icahn School of Medicine in New York. Following his graduation, he returned to Cameroon, where he served as an assistant professor at Mountain University Cameroon from 2015 to 2019, imparting knowledge and mentoring the next generation of health care professionals.

Dr. Ela Ondo's career then took him back to France in 2019, where he worked as a medical doctor at St. Joseph Hospital until 2023. During this period, he also held the position of partner at Emile Roux Hospital from 2022 to 2023. In November 2023, he relocated to Quebec, Canada, where he currently practices as a doctor at CHU Timone. His relocation was facilitated by an agreement between France and Quebec that allows physicians to practice in both countries under specific conditions after undergoing a three-month training program.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ela Ondo has been an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the Quebec College of Physicians, the Quebec College of Family Physicians and the American Heart Association. In addition to his professional achievements, he has also been involved in various civic activities, volunteering at a local hospital in Cameroon and participating in the campaign for President Obama while living in the United States.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Ela Ondo enjoys reading as a hobby. In the upcoming years, he is committed to acquiring a full medical license to practice in both public and private sectors in Quebec. Additionally, he is passionate about completing his book and aspires to become a professor of medicine, where he can continue to impart knowledge and contribute to academic research.
