Additionally, Mr. Grinnan's early career included managing a restaurant and working as a deckhand on various Great Lakes ore boats.
Mr. Grinnan's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English and journalism, with honors, from the University of Michigan in 1975 and a Master of Fine Arts in playwriting from Yale University in 1982. His education has been instrumental in shaping his editorial vision and writing process.
In addition to his magazine editorial work, Mr. Grinnan is the author of several popular books and memoirs.
